The Webcomic
A story about a grumpy, arrogant robot butler and the tiny, stubborn woman who takes him in. After deciding to test Botch out after taking him hom from the shop, Edith soon discovers he’s a complete nightmare. Rude, insulting, disobedient, the list goes on. Over time, however, she’ll persistently unpick at him until she makes him see there’s nothing botched about him. His origin, the source of his issues, I’ll leave as a mystery for you to read for yourself.
As the story continues, Botch will also have to assist her, in much the same way she’s helped him as a series of events occur that leave her a shell of her former self. The once kind and gentle mother figure in his life will become colder, more closed off, as she has come to terms with not only losing someone she loves, but her ill health.
From starting off with nothing but confrontation from first meeting, to forming a familial bond. The webcomic at its heart is about a mother and son, and the lengths they’ll go to in order to look after one another. It’s based on my experience with my real mother figures in my life and how much they mean to me.

My name’s Lia, born in Middlesbrough, I work as an animator.
I would attempt to sound more impressive but saying you’re from Middlesbrough is already undercutting any attempt at sounding even remotely cool.
My own bio is immensely hard to write as I think my webcomic says everything about me. I’m just a woman who loves her mam a lot and wanted to make her a big portion of my webcomic.
I wouldn’t have the skills I have today without her so it makes sense to pay it back.
